How To Remove Trojan Horse
By samsa
A Trojan horse is malware that is often used with malicious intent. People notably hackers infect victims' computers with Trojan horses in order to gain unauthorized access. This fact makes it important for every PC user to know how to remove Trojan horse from their computer. The difficult part is actually detecting the Trojan horse. You can actually go about using your computer normally day in and day out without ever suspecting anything is wrong. This is because the sole purpose of this malware is to remain hidden while the unauthorized user collects whatever information they want. Such information could be credit card numbers, passwords, bank statements and bank accounts and other private data such as emails, images and videos. The Trojan horse is downloaded on to a victim computers and then it is installed remotely. The malicious malware on the unsuspecting user's computer is known as the host. On the hacker's end the part of the program that collects the unauthorized data is known as the client. The hacker achieves this level of access because the Trojan horse (host) transmits the IP address and other info, granting the hacker full access after they have found an open port, which would only be a matter of time. If this doesn't raise an alarm and doesn't make you want to know how to remove Trojan horse virus then hopefully nothing valuable is on your hard drive.
Ok, now that you know what a trojan horse is, it is time to learn how to remove a trojan horse virus. If you know how your operating system works and by that I mean you know about running processes. Then simply press CTRL-ALT-DEL and see what processes look suspicious. Write down the processes name and search for them online. There are several good websites such as www.liutilities.com that will give you detailed process information. If you find out that the process is malware then all you have to do is restart your computer in safe-mode and deleted the Trojan horse. If however you don't have any PC knowledge then you need to get yourself a good anti-virus program. AVG antvirus, Norton Antivirus or McAfee antivirus are good programs. Simply run a full system scan including hidden files and directories. You should also make sure that all drives are scanned. A full system scan should hopefully get rid of trojan horse completely. Before you celebrate make sure that any external hard drives, pen drives, USB flash drives and memory cards are scanned thoroughly before you insert them into your computer. Also when it comes to Trojan horses your best security is prevention. A good firewall will usually suffice and there are many good free firewalls out there. Comodo firewall is something that I use. A firewall will alert you if any suspicious data is coming in or going out of your computer. It will also prevent unauthorized data from entering or leaving your computer. So even if there were a Trojan horse on in your system the hacker wouldn't be able to access the data because the firewall would prevent them. Every savvy computer user knows how to remove trojan horse and with this guide here, you now know too.
